Free Trade Zone vibrant

    THE gross industrial output value of the Free Trade Zone topped 3.87 billion yuan ($469 million) in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 27.8 per cent. Actually utilized direct foreign investments hit $19.66 million and various taxes 249 million yuan ($30.2 million), up 80 and 40 per cent respectively. Some 200 businesses with a total investment of $1 billion have been registered in the zone since October 1999. The GDP of the zone was nearly 4.7 billion yuan ($570 million) in the first seven months, gross industrial output value 16.97 billion yuan ($2.1 billion) and logistics revenue 75 billion yuan ($9.09 billion). A framework of aviation maintenance, precision processing, electronics devices and components and modern logistics has been in full swing in the zone.
