Sea paradise opens at Ocean Spring

    CARIBBEAN Coast, with 6,000sqm of natural beach, 6,000sqm of sea and a children's area, water sports area, on-water T-Stage, swimming pool and other facilities, was unveiled by Zhang Xuewu, president of China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Ltd; Managing Director Mao Jianjun; Wang Changle, president of Zhuhai Ocean Spring Resort; Mayor Wang Shunsheng; Executive Vice Mayor Xian Wen and Vice Mayor Huo Rongyin at Zhuhai Ocean Spring Resort on August 4.
    Pumped from the nearby sea, the seawater at Caribbean Coast has been purified with a filter system and the sands has been carefully selected. Advanced wave-making techniques greatly help to recreate the ocean coast.
    Mayor Wang extended his appreciation to Ocean Spring Resort for contributing to Zhuhai's tourism economy, pledging government support as always and hoping it can grow into a top-level leisure travel and holidaymaking resort in the world.
    Ocean Spring Resort, known for its integrated facilities and strong influence, has taken the lead in the tourist industry since opening last January. The resort yielded sales revenue of 200 million yuan ($21.2 million) by the end of July and registered 1.7 million visitors, the latter accounting for nearly 50 per cent of the total recorded at various local tourist attractions.
    Four hundred residents from Jiuzhou Garden, Zhuyuan New Village, Sanhao Mingyuan and Wuzhou Huacheng residential areas took part in the first-round contest of the 2006 Zhuhai Treasure Land Harmonious Community Jamboree at Caribbean Coast of Ocean Spring Resort last Saturday. During the cheering show, football match, swimming relay and tug-of-war in water, the Sanhao Mingyuan Team won the first entry contest.
    Cosponsored by the Xiangzhou Publicity Department, Zhuhai Daily and Ocean Spring Resort Treasure Land and organized by the municipal Property Management Association, the event has received great attention and support from all subdistrict offices and neighbourhood committees. Residents are also active participants. The organizer hoped that the event could boost exchanges between residential communities and construction of harmonious neighbourhood relationships.
    The entry contests are being held at Caribbean Coast every Saturday and the last contest is scheduled on August 26. Winners will be selected from the champion contestants in accordance with their scores, the organizer said.
    Participants are eligible for all amusement facilities on Treasure Island and the new Caribbean Coast summer feast.
