From 1979,when Zhuhai city was established,to 2002,Zhuhai accumulatively established 10.774 projects with a total foreign investment amount of US$24.42 billion and a total contractual foreign investment amount of US$ 13.93 billion,of which 7,303 projects directly attracted foreign investment totalling US$ 20.96 billion. Among the foreign-invested enterprises,272 have each introduced US$100 billion or more, and seven enterprises have each introduced US$ 100 million or more.In 2002,the total industrial output value of the city's foreign-invested enterprises reached RMB56.58 billion,representing 71.6% of its industrial output value. The taxes paid by these enterprises was RMB3.45 billion,representing 48% of the total tax revenue of the city.Their exports were valued at US$4.033 billion, representing 77.6% of Zhuhai's export value.
