Airshow China 2010 News Release
Approved by the Chinese State Council, the 8th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition is to be held in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China, from Nov.16-21, 2010. The show is sponsored by Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, Minstry of Industry and Information Technology, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Civil Aviation Administration of China, the Air Force of PLA, China Aviation Industry Corporation, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd., China Aerosapce Science and Technology Corporation and China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government is the executive organization, with Zhuhai Airshow Co., Ltd. as the official organizer.
China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (namely Airshow China) is an international aerospace trade show approved by the State Council that takes place biennially in Zhuhai and features flying display. Since 1996, it has been successfully held for seven sessions and becomes the gateway for technology exchange and cooperation between China’s aerospace enterprises and their overseas counterparts, and a platform for aerospace enterprises from around the world to enter the Chinese aerospace market.
At present, the show’s exhibitor registration has come to a successful end with a new record in floor space order—23,000 sqm, including 3 permenant halls and a newly erected emporary halls. About 600 exhibitors with about 70 aircraft from 35 countries and regions have signed up to attend the show. During the show period, about 40 summit forums, press conferences, contract signing ceremonies and product briefings will be held.
A new breakthrough has been seen in domestic participation. Airlines from CAAC, China Aviation Industry Corporation, China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation, China Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation and other sponsors will once again display the most advanced aviation and aerospace products and technology. Beside, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) , has ordered a stand of 1500 sqm to present its image at Airshow China for the first time; The Air Force of PLA, a new member of the sponsors of Airshow China, is set to participate in Airshow China 2010 with a bigger size, bringing a series of aircraft displayed at the 60th National Day Parade to the show, including the August 1st Aerobatic Team newly equipped with J10 Fighters, and the Parachute Jumping Team. The 2nd China Aviation Day, hosted by China Aviation Industry Corporation and the Air Force of PLA will be a spotlight of the upcoming event. In addition, private aerospace enterprises and related aviation industrial parks are going to showcase their image, and most of the regular exhibitors have increased the exhibiting space.
The overseas sales also see growth. World famous regular exhibitors like Boeing, Airbus, Rolls-Royce and Rosoboronexport will gather again in Zhuhai. Rosoboronexport, ROSCOSMOS(IASP), Gifas, Safran, AgustaWestland, Diamond Aircraft, GE Aviation, Kulite Sensor China Inc., Tyco Electronics, Parker Aerospace have booked bigger stands. The show also registered a number of new faces, such as Moog Inc., Carlisle Interconnect Technologies, Pelican Products Inc., Groen Brothers Aviation Inc., Acciaierie Valbruna SpA , Schmolz-Bickenbach Group, DMG China, Tital GmbH, LLC Research and Production Enterprise PRIMA and FED Corporation. After years of absence from Airshow China, the world famous aviation enterprise Honeywell is also coming back to the Airshow China stage.
More aircraft from home and abroad，both commercial and military，will participate in the upcoming event to showcase their advanced technology superior performance，including the debut of a dozen of home developed advanced aircraft. The Air Force of PLA will send the majority of its aircraft fleet that was displayed at the 60th National Day Parade in 2009, including KJ-200, J-10 Fighters, H-6 and JH-7. China Aviation Industry Corporation will display L-15, MA600 and many other aircraft. Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd will bring ARJ21, the self-developed regional jet, to the show and demonstrate flying display for the first time. The number of foreign aircraft also exceeds that of Airshow China 2008. Signed up for display at Airshow China 2010 include the Legacy 650 of Embraer, Global Express XRS and Challenger 300 of Bombardier, G550 of Gulfstream, and Citation Mustang, Grand Caravan, Skyhawk 172, Corvalis TT and Excel of Cessna, DA40D of Diamond Aircraft, in addition to another two light aircraft manufacturers from USA that are going to show case their aircraft. A380 of Airbus and BBJ of Boeing are expected to come as well. The eye-catching aircraft display is also featured by a large variety of helicopters, such as Sikorsky’s latest heavy duty S-92, Eurocopter’s EC225, Robinson’s R44, EC 120, joined by the homemade AC 313, Z-8 and Z9- the biggest helicopter ever made by China. The Australia-based Heliflite is also considering displaying helicopters at the show.
The Chinese and overseas aerobatic teams will stage thrilling maneuvers at Airshow China 2010. The ‘August 1st’ aerobatic team of the Chinese Air Force attended the second, third and fifth Airshow China and has left an unforgettable impression on the visitors with outstanding flying skills and stunts. In the coming event, the The ‘August 1st’ will fly 6 J-10 fighters in formation on the sky of Zhuhai and show the public the mighty and heroic spirit of the Chinese air force. Meanwhile, "Sherdils" aerobatic team of Pakistan Air Force will make its debut to perform their 9 K-8 trainers formation in Zhuhai, bringing the audiences a completely new visual impact. They will be joined by another 3 JF-17 Fighters of the Pakistan Air Force, one for static display, the other two for flying demonstration. Moreover, Red Eagles Aerobatic Team from the USA and ASB Aerobatic Team from Great Britain have also confirmed their participation in Airshow China 2010.
