The 7th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China 2008), to be held from November 4th to 9th, 2008 in Zhuhai, is likely to register more exhibitors and exhibits than those of the previous sessions, as preparation work for the show is proceeding smoothly. Up to now, the confirmed indoor space sales have reached 70% of Airshow China 2006’s volume, with more “early bird” orders and new comers.

The Chinese aviation and aerospace industry magnates, including the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the Aviation Industry Corporation I (AVIC I), the Aviation Industry Corporation II (ACIV II), the Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation, and the Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation, will continue to make a noticeable presentation at the show. Some Chinese arms industries will also make their debut at Airshow China 2008, echoed with a larger showoff by the PLA air force. The show is also recording increased orders from the domestic aviation accessory industries and sub-contractors, most of which are making their first showoff at Airshow China, such as the Suzhou Dongling Vibration Test Instrument Co. Ltd., which just placed an encouraging 50 square-meter order.

The international exhibitors are also booking spaces earlier than before. The show’s regular exhibitors, like Boeing, Airbus, Rolls Royce , Sukhoi, AviaExport, announced their participation to Airshow China 2008, with the first order already signed by Rolls Royce, 4 months earlier than that of the past sessions. Spain will set up its first pavilion while the Embassy of the Ireland Republic in China already made a reservation for a space of 72 square meters for the Irish industries’ debut at the show.

New flying demonstrations and aerobatics, as well as a variety of homegrown new aircraft and high-tech exhibits are staging at the show. Aerobatic teams from foreign air force units, joined by the already renowned Russian fighters, are being invited to cater the aviation fans.

To promote the business turnover and generate more business opportunities at show, the organizer is further implementing the Buyer Program, which aims to invite potential corporate buyers from home and abroad to the show. Among the candidates are government departments, the show sponsors, airline CEOs, military delegations, and trade commissions. It is expected that Airshow China 2008, amid the booming Chinese civil aviation market, will serve as an important platform for exhibitors to identify new customers and secure new orders from China and the Asia Pacific region as a whole.

At Airshow China 2008, the on-site management and service will become more streamlined and customer-oriented. Based on experience of the past shows, the organizer has refined the layout of Airshow China 2008’s show facilities. In addition, a group of brand and credited business sponsors have joined Airshow China 2008 in providing professional management and quality service to exhibitors and visitors. Among them are well-known names such as China Construction Bank Zhuhai Branch, Zhuhai Wang’s Yang Belly-Wash Co., Ltd., JINGYI GIFT HONGKONG CO., LTD.

According to sources from the show organizer, the two years between Airshow China 2006 and Airshow China 2008 saw a rapid growth in China’s aviation & aerospace industry, marked by the start of the Large Plane Project, ARJ21 rolling off the production line, and the successful launch of the Chang’e 1 lunar probe. These achievements, together with China’s policy to further open up its civil aviation sector, have laid a solid marketing basis for Airshow China 2008. Zhuhai Airshow Co., Ltd, the show organizer, is reaping better sales returns than before by offering diversified packages and identifying new exhibitors.
