The 8th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China 2010) took place in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China, from Nov.16-21, 2010. Up to 2pm Nov. 21, 2010, Airshow China 2010 registered a record of 600 exhibitors and 71 aircraft from 35 countries and regions, occupying an indoor floor space of 23,000 square meters. During the show period, 51 summit forums, press conferences, contract signing ceremonies and product briefings were held, including 28 business contracts involving 254 aircraft with a total turnover of $9.3 billion. 220 media and 3000 journalists from home and abroad reported the show, which also received 100,000 trade visitors, 220,000 public visitors, as well as 57 military and government delegations. A new breakthrough has been made in domestic participation. Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC), presented its image at Airshow China for the first time and launched the 1:1 passenger cabin mockup of the C919 jumbo. The Air Force of PLA, a new member of the sponsors of Airshow China, brought a series of aircraft displayed at the 60th National Day Parade to the show, including the August 1st Aerobatic Team newly equipped with J10 Fighters, and the Parachute Jumping Team. World famous regular exhibitors like Boeing, Airbus, Rolls-Royce and Rosoboronexport, ROSCOSMOS, SUKHOI, all gathered again in Zhuhai, with a 60% remarkable growth from the north America. The Chinese and overseas aerobatic teams staged thrilling maneuvers at Airshow China 2010. The ¡®August 1st¡¯ aerobatic team of the Chinese Air Force attended the second, third and fifth Airshow China and has left an unforgettable impression on the visitors with outstanding flying skills and stunts. At Airshow China 2010, the ¡®August 1st¡¯ flied 6 J-10 fighters in formation on the sky of Zhuhai and showed the public the mighty and heroic spirit of the Chinese air force. Meanwhile, "Sherdils" aerobatic team of Pakistan Air Force made make its debut to perform their 9 K-8 trainers formation in Zhuhai, bringing the audiences a completely new visual impact. Red Eagles Aerobatic Team from the USA also delivered excellent performances featured by its dual formation aerobatics. The professional scenario of Airshow China 2010 is also highlighted by a variety of high- profile conferences and forums, including the 2010 China Int¡¯l Aviation & Aerospace Summit; Airshow China B to B Meetings; and Airshow China General Aviation Forum. Since 1996, Airshow China has successfully been held for seven sessions. Now the show has grown to be a recognized brand name in the industry and served as an increasingly important platform for business cooperation and technical exchange between Chinese and foreign aerospace industries. Airshow China 2012 will take place from Nov.13-18, 2012.
