The 6th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China 2006) took place in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China, from Oct.31- Nov.4, 2006. Drawing experience from the past 5 sessions, Airshow China 2006 reached a new level featuring enhanced trading nature and increased international exhibitors. 550 exhibitors and 52 aircrafts from 33 countries and regions signed up with the show, covering an indoor floor space of 17,000 square meters. Nearly 90,000 trade visitors, 180,000 public visitors came to visit the show. During the show 15 business contracts were signed, involving 98 aircraft valued at 3 billion dollars. There were also 42 meetings and events scheduled for the show, including summit forums, news release conferences, new product promotions and technical seminars. The year 2006 also marked the 10th anniversary of Airshow China. Compared with the previous five exhibitions, Airshow China 2006 displayed a bigger collection of the advanced products and technologies. With the rapid development of national economy, China¡¯s aerospace industry has been growing by leads and bounds in recent years. ¡°Made in China¡± played a bigger part at this show, with a full display of self-developed aircraft such as the L-15 Advanced Trainer, the MA-60 Turbo Propeller, and the Little Eagle 50 light aircraft, representing the latest achievement made by the Chinese aerospace industry. The flying performance at Airshow China 2006 was just as eye-catching as before. The Russian Air Force "Knights" Aerobatic Team and the British "Golden Dream" Aerobatic Team brought fantastic performance and great excitement to the visitors. During the show days, Chinese space astronauts, Yang Liwei, Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng came to the exhibition three times to share their extraordinary space walk experience with the visitors and fans. Airshow China 2006 was highly praised by exhibitors and visitors for its streamlined admission procedures and improved services.
