The 7th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China 2008) closed on Nov. 9, 2008 in the Chinese coastal city of Zhuhai. With 21000 square meters of indoor space, the 6-day event marked the largest size ever in the show’s history, attracting 600 exhibitors from 35 countries, 48 official delegations, more than 90000 trade visitors, and a recorded business turnover of 4 billion US dollars.
A total of 58 aircraft attended static display or conducted flying performance at Airshow China 2008. Chinese Air Force’s ace fighter J10, and the world’s biggest passenger plane Airbus A 380 made their debut at the show. The Indian Air Force aerobatic team Surya Kiran also flied for the first time in China. Around 300000 visitors enjoyed the eye-opening aerobatics and demo flying during the show days. The event also witnessed 45 forums and 16contract deals, which involved 102 aircraft. More than 200 media units, including China’s state TV station, China Central Television (CCTV), broadcast live the grand show.
The success of Airshow China 2008 has paid off the Organizer’s commitment to building up the show into a trade platform for both buyers and vendors to and from the fast-growing Chinese aviation market. Set to deliver real value and promise business opportunities to exhibitors and trade visitors, Airshow China 2010 will take place at Zhuhai Airshow Center Nov.16-21, 2010.
